Nexpointe was established in 2001 by Brose McVey as a consulting company focusing largely on government and business operations and relationships. In 2005, Nexpointe was retained by the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), working on behalf of the State of Indiana to undertake a comprehensive inventory of Indiana’s defense assets and to build a roadmap designed to increase the share of defense spending coming back to Indiana companies and universities. To create that 408 page study, known as the INDIANA DEFENSE ASSET STUDY AND BRAC‐AFFECTED COMMUNITIES ANALYSIS (http://www.in.gov/oed/files/Defense_Asset_Study.pdf), we drew on our national team of retired military flag officers, a technology futurists and enormous research, including patent mining and focus groups. Among the many findings of this study, we found that recent history and forecasted trends in DOD spending point to huge new opportunities for manufacturing and related businesses. We also noted that barriers to entry, perceived and real, prevent companies from accessing the rich source of business and deny the military the benefit of their unique skills.
The insight gained from this study became the basis for Nexpointe Supply Chain Network. Based on our deep understanding of the unmet needs of the Federal Government, large prime contractors and large business and the barriers that keep potential suppliers away, we crafted a set of services that would facilitate business between Suppliers and Buyers.
